We listen for stories our students are made to tell. This happens in relaxed conversations, and we know it when we hear it. Students and parents rarely think of the universal human interest story in lieu of the resume-worthy, triumphant tout. However, the key to college admissions essays is narrative inquiry, and through this process, our writers learn how to be known by an admissions committee. We cast family, friends, teachers, and coaches as characters in the stories with the starring role reserved for the applicant.
